Across the River and Into the Trees

Set in post-World War II Venice, Italy, an American Army Colonel, haunted by the war, is a true hero who confronts news of his illness with a stoic demeanor. Seeking a weekend of quiet solitude, he enlists a military driver to revisit his old haunts in Venice. However, as his plans begin to fall apart, a chance meeting with a remarkable young woman sparks a renewed sense of hope in him.
