Alf, Fred and Flash are three bookmakers in need of a change of luck. Following a particularly bad day, when they owe money to all their clients, they come up with an idea. Cardinal, a wonder horse, is due to race the next week, and they decide that if they can switch this animal for another that will lose, they will make a profit.
