Joy is navigating the complexities following her breakup with Ced, her best friend and first love, who remains her legal husband. Her main focus is their daughter, SC, a cheerful romantic. When SC's boyfriend, Joey, proposes in front of Joy, she is determined to thwart the engagement. To add to the challenge, SC asks Joy to reunite with her estranged father, Ced, so both parents can walk her down the aisle. Joy reluctantly travels to Malta, where Ced works, setting a plan in motion to break up SC and Joey.
