1988 War drama
2h 28min
In the early days of World War II, a Hungarian Jew from British Palestine volunteers for a daring mission to parachute into German-occupied Yugoslavia, aiming to rescue fellow Jews from deportation to Nazi death camps. After enlisting in the British Army and training as a paratrooper in Egypt with the Special Operations Executive, Hannah and her small team land in Yugoslavia in the spring of 1944, joining forces with a local partisan group. Despite cautions against entering German-controlled Hungary, Hannah persists with her mission, only to be captured at the border. Imprisoned in a specialized facility, she endures brutal interrogation and torture, steadfastly revealing nothing beyond her name.
