    When François Pignon (Daniel Auteuil), an accountant in a rubber factory, is about to be fired, his neighbour Belon (Michel Aumont) comes up with an idea. He suggests François to spread the rumor that he's gay, in hope that the factory will try to avoid the issue of sexual discrimination, and keep François employed. The idea works, but the life of François will be drastically changed.
