The Craving

Inventor Carroll Wayles creates a powerful explosive sought by Ala Kasarib, an East Indian inventor, who uses his hypnotized ward, Beulah Grey, to obtain the formula. Carroll, a recovering alcoholic haunted by hallucinations, discovers the betrayal and turns to drinking but is sobered by a vision of war. He rescues Beulah from Kasarib, and their struggle triggers an explosion that kills Kasarib. Carroll and Beulah, now in love, seek solace with his family.
